Karyn Garvin of Diversity Toastmasters will be joining us with hot tips and advice on public speaking.
Karyn Garvin began her career as a professional dog trainer and dog behavior specialist in 1978. Over her long career she has had no less than 40,000 private lessons with her clients and their dogs. In 2010 she began developing her skills as an author (see a list of the books she has written thus far at DogTrainingOnAmazon.com).
However, nothing had prepared her for combating her fear of public speaking?nothing until she joined Toastmasters in 2011. It is thanks to Toastmasters that Karyn delivered her first Ted X Tucson Talk in January of 2017. It is also out of gratitude to Toastmasters that she is sponsoring Tucson?s first LGBT & Allies Toastmaster Club, Diversity Toastmasters.
No matter where you are in your life or career, Karyn believes that developing communication skills and building self-confidence are just the tools that most people need to succeed.
